What is Life
Builders?
We are an
organization that assists churches from different denominations to
start and maintain an English as a Second Language ministry.
Building Lives
(Communication)
Often,
internationals remain unable to communicate for months or even years
after moving to the United States. This prevents them from getting
better-paying jobs, forces them to live in unsafe neighborhoods and
makes it a burden to simply survive in a country where they
understand so little of the language.
Building Lives (Life
Skills)
Internationals need
to know how to fit into the different aspects of American life. This
can include banking, health care, law, safety and many more issues.
We take time to bring community groups to teach these skills.
Building Lives
(Equipping Volunteers)
We train volunteers
to teach English by offering a 16-hour training course. You do not
need to be a professional teacher, or be able to speak a foreign
language. We also offer on-going training. We need other volunteers
as well. This includes people who will provide transportation for
the internationals, snacks, and children's workers, to name a few.
Building Lives
(Sharing Christ's Love)
Every week, we
present a simple Bible story, ask how we can pray for our students,
and sing. It is our prayer as an organization that we will show
Christ's love to our international friends.
We Need You!
Like every Christian
organization we have specific needs. Our biggest need is prayer.
Would you be willing to pray for our Administration, Volunteers and
Students? We also need financial help. We are looking for groups or
individuals that could pledge US$50.00 per month for Life Builders.
God is blessing us and we are confident that He will continue to
send us praying people who will be able to support us.
If God is prompting
you to help in some way, please fill out the form to the right and
mail it to us.
